About Code Forecasting

Code forecasts and utilization reports must be submitted to NEUSTAR twice each year (by February 1st and August 1st). NANPA and the Pooling Administrator, the two organizations that issue NXX codes, both work closely with NEUSTAR and will not issue a code assignment unless a forecast including the specific rate center and / or NPA has been submitted and accepted by NEUSTAR. The Pooling Administrators also require a forecast to be sumbit into PAS (Pooling Administration System) before any NXX-X code requests are submitted to them.

What portions of the process can BackUP perform?

• Gather the forecast and utilization information
• Submit the form to NEUSTAR
• Handle any discrepancy issues that arise after the report has been submitted
• Gather the information for the PAS forecast
• Submit the forecast into PAS

 What portions of the process will my company need to help BackUP with?

• Provide a list of all NPA-NXX codes in service (only if BackUP does not already have the records)
• Provide utilization on each code in service to BackUP
• Provide future forecast plans to BackUP
